Full Range Dynamic Loudspeakers

Ultima Audio Column
Skye Acoustics Ultima Audio Column has been painstakingly engineered to compete with the worlds finest "super monitors". Originally launched as the Target Limited, Ultima Audio Column in 1988, today's edition is the culmination of years of careful modification and tweaking. The Ultima Audio Column is Skye Acoustics finest loudspeaker, featuring flat frequency response from 28~20,000 HZ, with an unusual combination harmonically truthful reproduction, and "live" sound staging rarely found in an audiophile monitor.

Ultima Audio Column is an avante' guard design utilizing a combination of a full range three-way line source coupled with a D'appolito ambient driver array. These massive sound reinforcement grade loudspeakers can play effortlessly at near concert sound pressure levels without even working up a sweat! Ultima Audio Column is also a very unconventional profile that is akin to a wide diamond shape that allows them to blend in to most rooms with less aesthetic impact than most designs of their size. Typical placement of the Ultima's places them fairly close to the back and outside walls they are adjacent to which minimizes their impact on the room.

People "in the know" have made the following statements about the Ultima's since their inception. Ultima Audio Column's have an emergent sound, which is akin to the sound a live performance. Musicians have noted their ability replicate the mass and localization associated with the real instruments themselves. Audio enthusiasts have been amazed by Ultima Audio Column's seamless integration and effortless dynamic range. The owner of a pair of Ultima Audio Column's supported by a well-designed electronics compliment will enjoy years of music reproduction with little evidence that it is being reproduced by a mechanical device. The staff at Skye Acoustics is proud to offer such a wonderful sound reproduction instrument.

Band Pass Transmission Line Sub-Woofers

Acousti-Vent 15
The Skye Acoustics line of sub-woofers is designed using one of the oldest design principles in bass reproduction, the transmission line! The flagship of Skye Acoustics' freestanding sub-woofer offerings, Acousti-Vent 15 is an unbelievably powerful and effortless performer. All Skye Acoustics sub-woofers are passive designs that require external amplification. The use of a passive design is preferable for two major reasons, the ability to match the amplification to rest of the system that it will be incorporated in, and more elegance in system architecture by virtue of the fact that no AC power is required at the device (just speaker level wiring). Acousti-Vent 15 also features unusually pitch accurate bass response causing it to be very musical. This allows integration with a wide variety of high performance speaker systems, maintaining the seamless characteristics required to create very convincing sound reproduction. All Acousti-Vent Sub-Woofers are forward firing through a pair of transmission line vents and heavily damped pressure release ports.

As with all Skye Acoustics sub-woofer models the 12 is a passive design that requires external amplification. The use of a passive design is preferable for two major reasons, the ability to match the amplification to rest of the system that it will be incorporated in, and more elegance in system architecture by virtue of the fact that no AC power is required at the device (just speaker level wiring). Acousti-Vent Twin-10
The Acousti-Vent Twin 10 is intended to be used as a single chassis stereo sub-woofer. Skye Acoustics, Acousti-Vent Twin-10 is unusual in that each driver fires through its own dedicated "long wavelength" transmission line. This allows the Acousti-Vent Twin 10 to extend its bass response slightly deeper (mid 20 HZ range) than it's single 10" brother. The Acousti-Vent Twin-10 is also ideal for use as a sub-woofer coupler when combined with Skye Acoustics larger models. In these applications the Twin 10 is used to provide stereo bass to the lowest directional frequencies, while the larger Acousti-Vent or Discreet-Sub take the system into true infrasonic bass. A system of this design will compete with any high performance design available today, usually with notably less effort and more musicality! The Acousti-Vent Twin 10 also features beautiful pitch accurate bass response causing it to be very musical. When combined with the best bookshelf speaker systems available the Acousti-Vent Twin 10 is capable of creating a convincing full-range sound that rivals all but the very best floor standing models.
